ANALYZING THE CONTENT OF 12TH GRADE MATHEMATICS AND PHYSICS CALCULUS BASED ON WILLIAM RUMI’S METHOD

Abstract

The purpose of the current research is to analyze the content of the 12th grade calculus, based on William Rumi’s technique. The research method in this study is a descriptive-survey type of content analysis according to the William Rumi method; The purpose of the research is to investigate the effectiveness of the book of calculus (2) of the twelfth grade of high school. The statistical population of the research is the 12th Book of Calculus (2017). The content of the textbook was examined in terms of the degree of student activity and involvement in three sections: text, practices and pictures. According to the studies, the engagement coefficient of the book text is 1.6, which shows the activeness of the text; Also, the engagement factor of the images was 1.1, which shows that the student must analyze the images to answer the relevant questions, and the engagement factor of the questions(practices) is 4, which indicates that the book’s questions are written in an active manner. And most of the questions require the performance and mental activity of the student. The results of this research along with the proposed suggestions can help to improve the teaching and learning process of the mentioned textbook.
